Nobody's Dead

A Time of Endings

We seem to be at a time of endings, often unexpected as in Michael Jackson's sudden demise, or else sad but welcomed, as in Farrah Fawcett's release from pain.

Last night I enjoyed an informal celebration of my friend's birthday. What came up was the poignancy of numerically, leaving her physical youth behind, and at the same time, the excitement of what is still to come.

Another friend shared that she had been a teacher for 17 years.  CA.'s budget crisis forced her out;  she's unemployed. This is a death, just as real as if her body died.  But it didn't. Now what does she do with her body?

The third dimensional mind shouts that everything has a beginning and an end. Nothing is real unless we can connect with our five senses.  The unknown looms large.

Life mirrors what we think of as death. How to recreate life when everything we know is kaput?  The answer always comes, but to receive, we need to ask and then be still.  The answer lies within.

A Boomerang of Love

Barbara is interested in connecting with her deceased Mom and Dad. They are living separate lives, aware of each other, but choosing not to be together.  

Dad is relaxing on the porch, smoking. When I try to dig into what's happening with him for his daughter's sake, his hand goes up as if to say, "That's enough."  He's not interested "in being interrogated," he says. Introspection is not his game.

Dad participated in a wrap-around sound and sight chamber.  If he chooses, he can observe and actually experience, how his behavior created his life and affected the lives of his friends and family. He has no inclination.

Mom waits for her turn and shows Barbara her old kitchen, where the aroma of cookies baking surrounds us. The Angels tell Barbara to imagine a beam of light stretching from her heart to her Mother's. Mom immediately catches on and boomerangs this love right back to her daughter. Together they have connected their hearts into the infinity of love.

The ongoing death of a son

Several years after her adolescent son died unexpectedly, a grieving mom was told by her Angels that she could measure her recovery in returning to life by noticing:

-  when months flow into years and her sadness is still drowning her as well as those around her.
-  when her grief begins to annoy and push away the rest of her family.
-  when her friends no longer stop by or call to check in on her.
-  when there is no joy for her anywhere.
-  when she'd rather not wake up.

The Angels suggest that this mom make an altar for herself and create a simple space to honor her son. Instead of putting his pictures and memorabilia all over the house and keeping his room as it was year after year, it is time to center her memories in one location.  Then she can return to the life of the living, and allow her family members to move on.

By never letting go of her grief, she is cutting off her son's supply of life force energy.  He is as alive as she is, but in a way she can't fathom. He's scattered in pieces until she begins to bring her fragmented self together.

The answer is acceptance. Acceptance of her son's choice. Acceptance of her own choice to allow everything she knows die, including her personal life, and her connection with her family and friends.

A dead man shares his appreciation

The dead show up in funny ways. A gently smiling man with beautiful, love-filled eyes came into my consciousness way too many times last night for me not to recall him. I had no idea who he was until I got into the shower this morning.

Still not identifying his face, I knew it was Dane, a dead man I read a good month ago.  My psychic friend, Julie, his neighbor, was concerned about Dane's wife and wanted to see if we could connect to help her. 

What the Angels showed us was a picture of a grief-stricken family learning to rebuild their lives.  Dane shared his respect and appreciation for his wife, whom he loved deeply. The reading reflected his loving concern for his family's well-being and information on selling their home.

Only yesterday did Julie give Dane's wife the CD of our reading, after she had broached the topic with her.  Julie was concerned that his wife might be frightened.  Not only did the opposite occur, but also Dane himself showed up to share his gratitude.

Purgatory

A Mom's 16 year old daughter, Carrie, committed suicide. She died from the breakdown of her body with Bulimia. Carrie still lives in her Mom's grieving heart, every day, every minute. Her Mom is unable to let go of the guilt and heartache of her daughter's death.

The Angels are showing me it's as if the roles are reversed. Mom's pain is inconsolable. She is unable to move on with her life. Carrie is locked into that coffin of grief and carries the burden of her suicide.

The truly sad part is Carrie understands that she made a mistake.  On earth, she was unable to see another way out. For the three years since her death, she has not only experienced her own unfortunate decision to end her life, but also climbed into her Mother's shoes and lives her despair.

If Mom could only see Carrie as the loving spirit she is and not as her personal failure of mothering, both she and Carrie could move on with their lives.

Life is a continuum of energy, with no beginning or end. Some times you are in a body and some times in spirit. The answer is the challenge of accepting and loving yourself as well as loving another, in spite of what appears to be the truth.

Purgatory is not a place but a state of being.

A "Welcome!" from the dead

My friend, Henry Jones, is something of a Renaissance man as well as a mystic. He's had many experiences with the dead contacting him, which he shares in his "Psychic Roots" books. He called from L.A. to comment on my last blog post. My caller ID clearly said "Beverly Garland." Henry is a happily married man so I joked with him about his girlfriend, Bev.

Henry shared this story. In his old acting days, he and Beverly Garland, an actress, were good friends. They shared their interest in the Afterlife, acting,  and interesting conversation. Beverly bought her own hotel and named it after herself. She wanted a comfortable place for her and her actor friends when they were in town. Henry was one of over a thousand "priority" guests.

The day of Beverly's funeral, Henry, who still had a sweet spot in his heart for his old friend, checked into The Beverly Garland. A conspicuous sign on the front desk said, "Welcome Henry Jones, the guest of the day."  

Henry had had enough experience with "the dead" to know that Beverly wanted to make sure he knew she was still around and enjoying being the engaging hostess at her own funeral.   

  

Birthing and the cycle of life

Often the Angels have pointed out the similarities between the experience of letting go of your body at death, and coming into life, being born.  The experience of being in the womb happened last night on my tele-seminar.

A soon-to-be Grandpa asked about the baby due in two weeks.  What showed up was a rush of energy, causing me to giggle with the delight of this beautiful child.  He was all light!  Not just a shimmer, he radiated an intensity of the Light.  The young mother's womb was bathed in the brilliance of Love. This child is still connected to the God-source and chooses not to forget.  He's laughing the bliss of the enlightened.

This baby will remember his expanded power of life beyond the third dimension, of life in "the secret." He has chosen to come into the physical now to remind us of the opportunity to trust what we can't see and to share in his dance in the joy of The Light.

Letting go

As Bob's dead father's energy entered me, I was overwhelmed with sadness at the intensity of emotion that enveloped me. I was this man;  I experienced myself as him, dying. I was encircled by my/his family, filled with love, praying for me. I saw them all, but instead of seeing their bodies, I saw their light. Their brilliance was so powerful that I felt myself as pulsating light.

The Angels share that the dying experience is similar to when you are birthed.  You as the baby, are wrapped in the light of your loved ones on the other side. They are all there to wish you well as you embark on your journey into a physical life. When you drop out of the protective safety of the womb, you remain connected to your spirit life until the doctor cuts the cord.

I remained suspended above my body until I/he cut the cord, only to find out later that his son had whispered in his Dad's ear, "It's okay to let go. You're safe.  We're here for you Dad. We love you."

As I deliberately released my/his body, I became one with all of my/his beloved family. We were one light.  This father died experiencing the secret of the physical life;  we are one. We are Light.

Preparing for Death

My much-loved, 90 year old half-sister is preparing for death. An exceptionally intelligent woman who practiced as a biochemist for years doing Cancer research,  has spent her last ten years either in a wheelchair or in a wheelchair/recliner. Her hearing is acute, her intelligence intact. Her humor still flows as she smiles and laughs at our stories. She's unable to speak.

She's learned the gift of acceptance. She showed me that listening is as important as talking. That being present is more important than all my ego can expound. And, that acceptance releases all resistance. 

My sister has reminded me that all of life is cyclical. Perhaps as a scientist she wanted proof before she could trust herself to move into the unknown.

The Angels share that Nature's newly formed green shoots come up in the exact place the old brown bush appeared to die last fall. Every night when we fall asleep, we leave our bodies lying peacefully while we dance around in our dream world only to return as the alarm buzzes.

When we relax into a dream state, we visit our friends in the next town. When we appear to die, we take a transatlantic jaunt into unfamiliar territory.  Some of us adjust easily to the difference in our home base; others need more preparation.
